If you just got your Barista Express and your shots taste different every morning, it's almost always the puck, not the machine. The kit is the four tools that fix it (WDT tool, 54mm dosing funnel, 53mm depth tamper and a tamping mat), already sized for your machine. $79.99 for the kit, $93.96 if you bought the four separately.

The one size trap on the Barista Express

Your portafilter is 54mm, but the basket inside it is about 53mm across. So the dosing funnel is 54mm (it sits on the rim) and the tamper is 53mm (it goes inside the basket). Buying a 54mm tamper is the most common mistake Barista Express owners make. When a tool on this page has sizes, pick the one marked Breville 54mm.

Going bottomless?

Use the bottomless portafilter with one of your single-wall baskets, not the double-wall (pressurized) ones. A pressurized basket in a bottomless portafilter sprays foam instead of showing you your shot.

Also fits

Barista Express Impress, Barista Pro, Barista Touch, Bambino, Bambino Plus and Infuser. Does not fit the Dual Boiler, Oracle or Oracle Touch, which are 58mm.
